Kadimah and JIFF showcase two brilliant films in this unique double feature.
Jewish Voices: Resurrected Songs, tells of the quest to recover the catalogue and LPs of two Jewish recording studios in Berlin which were burned down on Kristalnacht. This film is followed by a live musical performance of some rediscovered Yiddish musical gems, played live in cinema by Adam Starr, Galit Klas and Josh Moshe.
After an intermission, catch a wonderful Yiddish film, out of circulation for generations, I Have Sinned (Al Khet), starring Melbourne actor Rokhl Holzer. The film also debuts the comedy duo of Shimon Dzigan and Israel Schumacher.
Ahead of the second screening, Kadimah will announce the Rokhl Holzer Emerging Artist Scholarship and share some personal insights into the life and contribution of this world renowned actor.
