Opening Night screenings now on sale!

Celebrate the start of the 2024 Festival with the Australian Premiere of the poignant comedy A Real Pain, starring Jesse Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin. The film opens the festival on Sunday 27 October in Melbourne, followed by Sydney, Perth, Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide, and Hobart.

JIFF returns to cinemas across Australia from October. We’re heading to TEN venues in seven cities – our biggest festival (geographically!) to date.

Opening at our traditional home of the festival, Classic Cinemas Elsternwick, we’ll continue across the country, culminating in the Perth leg at the end of December. We’re thrilled to be screening at Cameo Cinemas (Belgrave) and The Piccadilly in Adelaide for the first time ever!
