History of the World, Part I (1981)

A spectacularly silly send-up of epic sword-and-sandals and biblical films, this anthology comedy takes place over five time periods: the Stone Age, the Old Testament, the Roman Empire, the Spanish Inquisition and the French Revolution. Playing five different characters including Moses and King Louis XVI, this is Brooks at his most maximalist and farcical.
