The Reports on Sarah and Saleem (Al-Taqareer Hawl Sarah wa Saleem) Netherlands, Germany, Mexico, Palestinian / 2017

“A meaningful new twist to the tried and tested between-the-sheets scenario, focusing on two couples caught on opposite sides of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict… a compelling drama in which the personal crosses paths with the political.” – The Hollywood Reporter

Sarah runs a café in West Jerusalem, while Saleem is a deliveryman from East Jerusalem. Despite disparate backgrounds, and the fact that they are both married, their deep attraction leads to an intense sexual relationship. When a risky late-night tryst goes awry and threatens to expose them, the potential repercussions become all too clear, particularly as Sarah’s husband is a colonel in the Israeli army. The casual affair is material for a taut thriller in this exhilarating and accomplished film, as security agencies from both sides of the political divide become involved.

Winner of the Audience and Special Jury Awards at 2018 International Film Festival Rotterdam.
