At once a gripping historical mystery and a haunting love story, this poignant drama weaves an invisible but unbreakable thread between two women living in two different time periods.

In the 1970s, American woman Esther receives a letter upon the death of her mother instructing her to search for a woman who lived in 1930s Palestine in order to uncover a hidden chapter of her family’s history. With the help of Zayde, a university professor, they uncover the story of Yehudit, a woman who arrives in a village and becomes entangled with three different men: a grieving widower, a farmer and a cattle trader. These historical revelations reverberate through time, shaping Esther’s understanding of her own family’s legacy and helping her to deal with the heartbreaking loss of her mother.    Based on the beloved novel “The Loves of Judith” by Meir Shalev, this is an elegant and thoughtful rumination on the enduring bonds of familial love through the ages.
