Australian Premiere

A breath of fresh air, this multi-generational romantic comedy tells the story of Regina, an 83-year-old woman who travels to Poland from Israel to reclaim a family property seized during World War II. Accompanying her is her 30-year-old granddaughter Mika. Once the two women arrive in Warsaw, Regina’s ulterior motive for the trip soon comes to light – to search for her long-lost love from whom she was separated 70 years ago. Meanwhile, Mika finds herself distracted from her dealings with the property when she meets a handsome tour guide and sparks fly.

Touching and filled with moments of gentle humour, The Property was directed by Dana Modan who co-wrote the film with her sister Rutu, adapting it from Rutu’s 2013 graphic novel. It was nominated for four awards at the 2024 Israeli Oscars including Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Screenplay and Best Cinematography.
